Across the strait from Port Hardy a First Nation community is embracing the opportunity that comes from challenge. They have been actively reclaiming their traditional territory lands in the Gilford Islands through land purchases and recently acquired popular boating stop ‘Pierre’s Echo Bay Lodge & Marina.’ The Nation is also leveraging the interest in sustainable tourism as part of its economic development strategy.

In this episode, Johnson talks about their plans and how this will grow business and improve socio-economic well-being.
