Road to Recovery: Protecting the Island’s natural environment

CHEK

In this week’s segment of Road to Recovery with Douglas Magazine, CHEK’s Hannah Lepine chats with Cathy Armstrong, the Executive Director of The Land Conservancy of BC.

Known as TLC, the Land Conservancy of BC is a non-profit, charitable Land Trust that works throughout the province protecting critical habitats for plants, animals, communities, and properties with historical and cultural value.

As the housing crisis grows, and demand for land is at an all-time high, TLC continues its work in protecting these sensitive natural environments from encroaching development.

While the balance between that demand and protection is not easy to strike, TLC sees it as a vitally important goal.

In this segment, Armstrong touches on the importance of TLC’s work, current projects, and environmental threats facing Vancouver Island.
