RCMP seek witnesses after cyclist struck by vehicle in North Saanich

Mounties in North Saanich are looking for witnesses of a collision that left a cyclist with serious injuries Monday afternoon.

The cyclist was struck by a vehicle in the intersection of West Saanich and Willingdown roads at around 3:45 p.m., according to Sidney/North Saanich RCMP.

Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to the intersection and the cyclist was taken to hospital. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and has been identified by police.

Investigators and members of the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Team are looking into the cause of the collision.

In the meantime, anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage of the area leading up to the incident is asked to contact RCMP at 250-656-3931.
