RCMP seek suspect caught assaulting woman on video surveillance in Parksville

Oceanside RCMP is turning to the public for help in identifying a man who allegedly attacked a woman in Parksville in a video captured by surveillance cameras.

The attack took place in the 400-block of Island Highway East.

The video, passed along to police, appears to show the man assaulting a woman outside of a Parksville business on the night of Jan. 26, 2022.

At the time of the incident, the man was wearing grey sweat pants, a white t-shirt with two black logos on the front and a large, black logo on the back.

The man was also seen wearing a black backward-facing baseball hat, according to police.

The woman, with medium-length dark hair, was wearing dark clothing and light brown fur-lined boots.

The man and woman both appear to be in their 30s.

The Oceanside RCMP has not received any direct reports from the woman and wish to identify and speak with her so we can confirm her safety and determine what occurred between her and the man, says Sgt. Shane Worth of Oceanside RCMP.
