Nanaimo RCMP are asking for the public’s help to locate a couple that was expected to return from a scheduled fishing trip Wednesday night, and their disappearance is considered out of character.

RCMP says 29-year-old Tamara Sandulak and 32-year-old Cody Martin are considered avid fishers and are experienced outdoor persons.

Police say they are believed to be in the area of Second Lake or Echo Lake.

Investigators went to their Nanaimo home and confirmed their truck is not there and all four of their boats have been accounted for.

RCMP says Sandulak is believed to be wearing a black jacket and either jeans or dark leggings.

Martin is thought to be wearing tan pants, a black shirt and black jacket.

The truck they are driving is a burgundy-coloured Dodge 1500 pick-up with a matching canopy.

The plate on the vehicle is NV9240.

Nanaimo Search and Rescue and RCMP air personnel started a search Thursday, which will continue Friday, if necessary.

Nanaimo RCMP says if anyone sees either Tamara Sandulak, Cody Martin or their truck, to call either 911 or the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345 and quote file # 2020-41121.
