West Shore RCMP says another suspicious package containing a powdered substance was found Tuesday at the Hemminger Law Group’s office in Langford.

Police say the incident is the third time the firm has been targeted with a suspicious package in just over a month.

Around 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, a suspicious powdered substance was found at the Hemminger office.

The package was found a day after officers were called Monday morning for a suspicious package containing a powdered substance and an anonymous threatening letter.

In both cases, Hazmat procedures were activated and the RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit attended the scene.

The substances were determined to be benign and were safely removed.

Police say the office was locked down by first responders and all people who were in contact with the suspicious substance were decontaminated and assessed by medical personnel.

On September 7, a hazmat team was called to the Hemminger Law Group office after an employee received an envelope containing a suspicious white powder and a threatening letter.

West Shore RCMP Cpl. Chris Dovell said in a release Tuesday morning that the incidents are isolated to the law office’s location at 2475 Veterans Memorial Parkway only and there is no risk to the public.

Police are asking anyone with information about the investigation to contact West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264 or call Crime Stoppers.
