The West Shore RCMP says there is no threat to the public after they raided a motorcycle club in Langford on Wednesday, as well as several other properties.

Mounties say they executed multiple search warrants on Jan. 31, alongside the provincial gang unit, the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit BC, as part of a drug trafficking investigation.

One property police searched was the Savages clubhouse along Spencer Road in Langford. The Savages MC is a group that Mounties suspect has ties to organized crime.

West Shore RCMP confirmed that officers used force to enter the property. It’s one of multiple search warrants being executed on the West Shore, although the locations of the others aren’t being disclosed.

West Shore RCMP public relations officer Const. Nancy Saggar won’t say what police are searching for, only that it’s linked to a drug trafficking investigation.

“I can’t speak to individuals that have been arrested or not,” she said. “[There are] details that we are hoping to share in the upcoming days.”

Becky Paquette lives across from the property in question and feels concerned for her safety and for her neighbours.

“I find it a little shocking. Like this is suburbia! It’s a little weird, a little unsettling,” she told CHEK News on Wednesday.

“There’s a lot of elderly people that live in this building so a little unsettling,” said Paquette.

RCMP says more details will likely be released in the coming days.
