The Comox Valley RCMP Major Crime Unit is investigating after shots were fired in Courtenay Friday night.

Police say they responded around 11:30 p.m. to the 400 Block of Panorama Crescent, following reports of a disturbance and shots fired.

Mounties say no one was hurt, and that a nearby vehicle was damaged as a result of the incident.

They do not think this is a random event and believe that all parties involved are familiar with each other.
