RCMP investigating early morning shooting in Courtenay

The RCMP are investigating, after an early morning shooting in Courtenay Sunday.

At around 2:30 a.m. the Comox Valley RCMP received a report of a possible shooting in the area of Piercy Avenue and Tull Avenue in Courtenay.

Officers arrived and found bullet holes in a vehicle and two buildings. Police confirm multiple shots were fired on the 900-block of Cumberland Road.

They do not believe the incident was random.

No victims have come forward to police, and they say no evidence on the scene suggests anyone was severely injured.

“We are actively investigating and would like to speak with any witnesses who saw or heard anything suspicious in the hours leading up to what happened,” said Staff Sergeant Glen
Breckon, Comox Valley RCMP Major Crime Unit in a statement.

The rear window of a minivan belonging to the Pet Treat Bakey company was blown out on the scene.

The “Coffee Luv Bug” business, who is behind police tape, posted to social media saying that everyone was okay.
