RCMP investigating after man reports being shot in leg in Comox

The Major Crimes Unit is investigating after a man reported he was shot in the leg in a park in Comox on July 30.

The 41-year-old man called 911 around 12:30 a.m. requesting police and medical assistance in a park on the 2000-block of Wallace Road.

He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and is expected to recover.

Officers arrived and located and seized a double barrel shotgun near the man.

“There is no evidence to suggest any ongoing risk to the public. Investigators have interviewed witnesses and all parties involved in this incident are known to police,” said Const. Monika Terragni, Media Relations Officer, Comox Valley RCMP.

RCMP say there is no suspect description at this time.
