Nanaimo RCMP say they are investigating an incident at that involved two elementary school students being approached by a woman.

The incident occurred at Brechin Elementary at roughly 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday, when a young student at the school was watching her younger sister in the playground.

Nanaimo RCMP say there may have been a disagreement between the sisters.

According to the RCMP, a woman approached them and spoke to the older child, and offered to take the younger one.

The girls left and went to the school.

“It is not known at this time if this was a person offering to help, or there is more to the story. We  are investigating, and believe this is an isolated incident,” reported Sgt. Jon Stuart.

Police are interested in speaking to the woman.  She was described as being well dressed, with a black dress, red cardigan, and grey high heeled shoes.  She had dark hair pulled up in a bun.  She left in a grey 2-door vehicle parked on Northumberland.

RCMP are asking that anyone with information on this incident contact them at 250-754-2345.
