RCMP investigates after driver killed in Port Hardy crash

A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Port Hardy early Thursday morning.

At 5:57 a.m., members of Port Hardy RCMP and North Vancouver Island Traffic Services responded to a collision on Highway #19, approximately 1 km south of Fort Rupert Road.

The male driver from Port Hardy sustained injuries and was transported by EHS to Port Hardy Hospital for treatment, but did not survive.

The incident is under investigation.

At this time, speed and/or alcohol do not appear to be contributors to the collision.
