RCMP are investigating after two men assaulted a Colwood resident at their home on Monday evening.

Police say the assault occurred around 8 p.m. at a home in the 2400-block of Sooke Road.

Home surveillance video shows the two suspects knocking at the front door of the home. The video released by police ends before the homeowner appears on screen.

“The two suspects got into an altercation with the homeowner which turned physical,” said West Shore RCMP in a release Wednesday.

Mounties did not elaborate on what the altercation was, but say the suspects and the homeowner did not know each other.

Police add that they believe the attack was targeted and that there is no risk to the wider community.

A portion of the video, released by police, can be viewed below:

Investigators are looking to identify the two suspects and are asking anyone who recognizes them to come forward.

The first suspect is described as a white man who stands approximately 5’8” to 5’10” tall. He was wearing a blue hoodie, a dark baseball cap, jogging pants and sandals at the time.

The second suspect is described as a darker-skinned man with a medium build. He was wearing a dark jacket at the time.

Police note that the home surveillance video makes their clothing look lighter since it was recorded in the dark.

Anyone with information on the incident, or who may recognize either of the two suspects, is asked to call West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 or online.
