RCMP, Duncan Fire investigating suspicious fire at Brae Road Gospel Church

Police and fire officials are investigating a suspicious fire that has damaged a church in Duncan.

North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP says just after 8 a.m. on Sep. 21, officers were alerted to smoke coming from the Brae Road Gospel Church, in the 300-block of Brae Road in Duncan.

RCMP and Duncan Fire Department attended to the scene.

Authorities say no one was injured in the fire, but the damage to the building is considered to be extensive.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

Anyone who witnessed people gathering around the location during the evening of Sep. 20 and early morning of Sep. 21 is urged to call North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP.
