Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for east and west Vancouver Island, as well as Greater Victoria.
The alert calls for up to 100 mm of rain for west Vancouver Island.
For east Vancouver Island and Greater Victoria, there is expected to be between 50 to 70 mm of rain lasting until this evening.
The east Vancouver Island alert is in effect for Duncan to Nanaimo, and the west Vancouver Island alert is in effect for Port Renfrew to Sooke.
The weather alert notes there is a chance of localized flooding and washouts due to the amount of rainfall.
Additionally, water pooling on roads is expected, so drivers are advised to drive with caution.
