Queen Victoria’s birthday parade on Monday will have everything…but mostly, marching bands

CHEK

The band students at Spectrum Community school are up daily at 7:30 practicing for perfection.

There are lots of marching bands in the Island Farms Victoria Day Parade presented by Natrel and most are from south of the border but the three groups that get the biggest cheers are the hometown favourites, Reynolds, Lambrick Park & Spectrum.

Spectrum band director Jamie Davis tells us that his students take great pride in their yearly marching performance.

That includes arriving at school every morning this past week at 7:30 to rehearse their numbers.

Despite the dozen or more bands from the States, Davis wants Spectrum’s band to be the one everyone remembers.

The bands huddle cheer before every presentation is Sound, Appearance, Precision.
