The Town of Qualicum Beach is currently seeking a member of the public to serve on their Heritage Forest Commission, an advisory committee to council that assists with the management of the Qualicum Beach Heritage Forest.

The successful applicant will serve on the commission for a term of two years without remuneration.

Meetings are held at Qualicum Beach town hall on the first Thursday in February, September and November at 9:00 a.m.

The Heritage Forest Commission was first established in 2001 following the purchase of a large chunk of land known as the Brown Property.

The commission’s role is to manage the Heritage Forest. Membership of the commission consists of two members of town council members, two members of the Brown Property Preservation Society and one public member.

Anyone interested in applying to be on the commission should send a brief resume to [email protected] by Nov. 30.
