One word summed up Chris Arends’ close meeting with a pod of dolphins Monday night: awesome.
The co-owner of Quadra Island Kayaks was on the water in Drew Harbour on Quadra Island when a pod of dolphins began streaking by.
Arends is heard estimating he saw about 50 dolphins going by his kayak, possibly chasing fish in a video he posted to the Facebook and Instagram accounts of Quadra Island Kayaks.
The video was taken in front of the Taku Resort and Marina in Hariot Bay.
