UPDATE: Police later managed to arrest the suspect Thursday. Authorities say that the 20 year-old suspect is known to police. He will remain in custody until his scheduled court appearance on May 26, 2023.

The public is being asked to stay away from the area around Finlayson Arm and Millstream roads while police respond to an incident.
In a release, police say they received a report around 1 p.m. for a disturbance at a home in the 800 block of Finlayson Arm Road.
Since police have reason to believe the person inside the home has a firearm, there is a heavy police presence and a road closure on Finlayson Arm Road.
Nearby residents are asked to stay in their homes.
One man was later arrested after a several hour standoff with police.
Authorities confirmed a firearm was recovered from the scene.
West Shore RCMP told CHEK News that the firearm belonged to the owner of the house and not the suspect.
Officers at the scene also confirmed that the break-in to the home may be drug-related.
