Production and sale of Cannabis derivatives including edibles becomes legal in Canada on Thursday

As Canada gets set to mark one year since the legalization of recreational cannabis on Thursday, the list of marijuana-based products available to consumers will also grow.

The production and sale of cannabis derivatives including edibles and vaping extracts will become legal as of October 17.

New regulations that come into effect on Thursday put rules in place for marijauna edibles, topicals and concentrates.

The products won’t be available immediately since producers have to give 60-days notice to Health Canada.

Its expected products such as edibles will be available to buy legally in mid-December.
