Premier Horgan makes first official visit to Yukon on Monday

Premier John Horgan is making his first official visit to Yukon on Monday.

The two-day trip will also included a stop in the northern B.C. community of Lower Post.

On Monday, Horgan will meet with Yukon Premier Sandy Silver in Whitehorse.

His itinerary also shows he will sit down with First Nations leaders, attend a business luncheon, and tour a renewable energy facility.

On Tuesday, the premier is scheduled to tour a former residential school in Lower Post, the most northerly B.C. community on the Alaska Highway, barely 10 kilometres south of the Yukon boundary.

He will also meet with First Nations leaders and take part in a community feast.

The B.C. Legislature’s fall session is set to begin next Monday, October 7.
