The B.C. government has announced pregnant people are now eligible to receive their booster shot of the COVID-19 vaccine eight weeks after they receive a second shot.
In the province, people are eligible to receive their third shot six months following their second shot, but this has been shortened for pregnant people.
In a statement, the province says this change is being made because it is important for pregnant people to receive their booster during pregnancy to ensure optimal protection for them and their baby.
