More than 1,700 residents across Greater Victoria experienced power outages Saturday morning.

BC Hydro says affected customers in Langford, Sooke, and Gordon Head all lost power around 11:30 a.m.

Langford was the hardest hit, with 1,330 customers losing power at 11:41 a.m. The affected area is north of Marlene Drive and west of the Island Highway, near Hoffman Avenue, according to BC Hydro.

356 customers in Sooke were affected, with their power cutting out at 11:26 a.m. north of Phillips Road.

A total of 15 customers in the 4100-block of Gordon Head Road and the 2200-block of Arbutus Road, lost power on Saturday morning around 11:24 a.m.

Crews are working at each location to restore power to residents.

BC Hydro says the cause of the power outage at Gordon Head was caused by trees falling on power lines while the cause of the outages in Langford and Sooke is unknown at this time.
