Marilyn Horsley’s spent the last 12 days holding a vigil at her only son’s bedside.

Andrew Horsley is in the intensive care unit at Victoria General Hospital fighting for his life.

“I’m hanging on,” an emotional Marilyn Horsley says. “I’m just trusting God that he’s bringing him back to me.”

The 41-year-old father of three was airlifted to hospital after a devastating ATV accident on a remote logging road near Port Alice left him pinned under this ATV in the ditch.

“The furthest we can figure out is he was there for seven or eight days, under the trike, in the open elements and he was pinned under his machine and he didn’t have a helmet on,” Marilyn explains.

Andrew was found October 22nd by a man out for a drive with his daughter. He told police something in his gut urged him to turn down the road Andrew was found on.

“It’s just a miracle and we’re just so grateful for everybody that’s praying and there for us and here for us and all the people waiting with baited breath for him to come out of his coma,” Marilyn says.

Andrew is still on life support with critical injuries.

He’s had six brain bleeds and they had to amputate his left leg but his mother says he’s even surprised his doctors.

“They’re astonished and wowed and says he’s a fighter and say don’t give up,” she says, breaking down. “And I’m saying nobody is going to give up!”

Andrew’s friends are rallying around Marilyn, who rushed here from her home in Alberta as soon as she heard the news.

“I’ve had people supporting me, holding me up, praying with me,” Marilyn says. “We’ve all encouraged each other.”

Marilyn says she’s so grateful for the support, which his giving her hope during these dark days.
