Port Alberni’s air quality advisory lifted, environment ministry says

An air quality advisory for Port Alberni that was issued on Sunday has now ended.

According to the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy and Island Health, air quality in the area has improved.

The warning was originally issued late Sunday morning due to wood smoke emissions building up in the valley, along with calm wind conditions, leading to elevated levels of fine particulates in the area.
