A string of break and enters at businesses in Port Alberni sees RCMP asking for the public’s help in trying to identify those responsible.

RCMP reports that over the past couple of weeks, there have been reports of commercial break-ins including multiple ones on Gertrude, Hollywood, Glenwood, Roger and Argyle Streets from 3rd to Harbour Quay.

There have been no confrontations or violence reported in any of the incidents.

RCMP say they believe a small number of individuals may be responsible for the crimes.

Forensic evidence from the sites is currently being analyzed.

Investigators are also asking for any video, photographs or eyewitness accounts of possible suspects and/or vehicles related to the crimes.

“We are asking the public is to remain vigilant, to report suspicious persons or activities and to secure all potential access points to their homes and businesses,” said Sgt. Peter Dionne of Port Alberni RCMP.
