Police in Victoria are warning parents after a report of an attempted child-luring in a local park.

An 11-year-old child was playing on the Finlayson turf of Topaz Park after 2 p.m. Friday when they were approached by a woman who offered the child money and a Bible and to get into her car, according to police.

Police say the child refused the offers and told a trusted adult, however, the woman left before the child had told anyone.

The woman is described as being around 60 to 70-years-old with a slim build and shoulder-length gray hair, according to VicPD. They say she was wearing glasses, and grey or black sweater, grey or black pants and had a red book.

Police say they would like to speak to the woman to learn more about what happened.

Police ask anyone with information on the incident to call the VicPD report desk at 250-995-7654 ext. 1.
