Police warn of cougar sighting at Island View Beach in Central Saanich

A warning Tuesday from Central Saanich Police to dog walkers and campers in the area of a cougar sighting.

Just after 8 p.m., Central Saanich police posted on Twitter a confirm a cougar sighting that was reported around 7:30 p.m.

Dog walkers and campers – please be aware that a confirmed cougar sighting occurred this evening at 7:30pm at Island View Beach. #csaan

Police are asking anyone in the area to be aware for the cougar.

This warning comes nearly two weeks after West Shore RCMP warned View Royal residents of “several” early morning calls on June 4 related to cougar sightings.
