West Shore RCMP

West Shore RCMP is seeking information in order to locate a driver and passenger that were spotted leaving the scene of a single-vehicle rollover crash in Colwood.

The incident took place shortly after 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 27 in the 700-block of Kelly Road in Colwood.

Police responded to the scene and were informed by witnesses that a grey Mazda was travelling westbound when it crashed into a culvert, flipped into the air and hit a utility pole before ending upside down on its roof.

Police were also told that witnesses had spotted a man and woman getting out of the vehicle and leaving the scene of the rollover crash.

The initial cause of the collision remains unknown, states Cst. Alex Bérubé, spokesperson for the West Shore RCMP. It is hard to believe that this type of crash did not injure anyone involved. In fact, we are actively seeking to speak with the driver and passenger of that vehicle to ensure their well-being.

BC Hydro also attended the scene following the crash in order to have the utility pole replace later that evening.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264.
