Police say Central Saanich medical incident is not suspicious

Central Saanich Police, Central Saanich Fire and Sidney/North Saanich RCMP responded to a medical incident that took place on Stautw Road near Pullock Road on the Tsawout reserve, late Saturday morning.

A medical incident in Central Saanich has been deemed non-suspicious by local police.

Central Saanich Police, Central Saanich Fire and Sidney/North Saanich RCMP responded to a medical incident that took place on Stautw Road near Pullock Road on the Tsawout First Nation reserve, late Saturday morning.

BC Coroner Service were reportedly on scene as well.

The response briefly caused the area to be closed to non-emergency vehicle traffic.

A source told CHEK News that two people had died on the reserve.

Sidney/North Saanich RCMP would not comment publicly on the matter, other than saying that the incident was a “terrible tragedy” and “non-suspicious.”

Tsawout First Nation reserve falls under Sidney/North Saanich RCMP’s policing jurisdiction.

CHEK News has reached out to all responding agencies including the BC Coroner Service and Central Saanich Fire for further comment.
