Victoria police say alcohol is believed to a factor following an accident early Saturday morning.

Officers responded just after 2:30 a.m. to the 1600 Block of Hollywood Crescent after a vehicle had driven onto a home’s lawn — knocking over a wood and brick fence.

Officials say the driver suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The accident woke up the homeowners, who say it appears that the driver swiped a tree before hitting their fence.

They say police told them the woman driver had a bottle of wine in the front seat.

They add there is $6,000 to $10,000 worth of damage, but they plan to go through their insurance to cover the costs — and they are happy no one was seriously injured.
