Police release sketch of man accused of kissing teen's neck on the Galloping Goose trail

Police have released this sketch of a man accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl on July 9, 2019.

West Shore RCMP have released a sketch of man who allegedly pulled a 16-year-old girl in for a hug and gave her a kiss on the neck on the Galloping Goose trail.

The teenage girl told police at around 1 p.m. on July 9, she was walking on the Galloping Goose trail near Sooke Road and Happy Valley Road in Langford when she was approached by a man asking for directions.

The girl gave directions. The man then allegedly shook her hand, pulled her in to hug her and gave her a kiss on the neck before she pushed him away. Police said after the victim pushed the man away, he thanked her and left the area.

Police have now released a sketch of the sexual assault suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him. He is described by police as an Indian man who spoke with an accent, in his mid 20s to 30-years-old, 5’10” tall, 175 pounds with dark skin, and hair that is thick and wave and either dark brown or black. He has brown eyes, a full beard and was wearing a dark, puffy jacket, dark jeans and a dark T-shirt. He was riding a bicycle.
