Police looking for suspect after woman assaulted outside her Duncan home

Police in Duncan are looking for a man who allegedly assaulted a woman after she refused him access to her property.

North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP said the woman was assaulted at around 5 a.m. outside of her home on Ypres Street. Police said prior to the assault, the woman had denied the man further access to her property.

The suspect is described by police as a First Nations man, 18 to 19-years-old, 5’10” (177.8 centimetres), clean shaven with little stubble and medium-length hair. He was last seen wearing a white hooded sweater, black ball cap and a blue string backpack.

Anyone who has seen him or has further information can call North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP at 250-748-5522 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Police are also reminding the public to call 911 or North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP at 250-748-5522 if they see someone suspicious on or around their property.
