West Shore RCMP are investigating reports of shots fired in Langford on Wednesday night.

Police said at around 10:15 they received multiple 911 calls about shots heard near the intersection of Orono Avenue and Jacklin Road. Officers immediately went to the area.

There were no reports of injuries and police are still gathering evidence from the area. The Island District RCMP Forensic Identification Section are assisting with the investigation.

“Because of the nature of this investigation, we ask the public to be cautious and vigilant until we learn more about this incident,” Cst. Alex Bérubé, spokesperson for the West Shore RCMP, said in a statement.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

“Anyone who witnesses anything suspicious in the area that may have been of concern or out of the ordinary should contact the investigators at the West Shore RCMP,” Bérubé said.
