Police investigating early morning stabbing in downtown Victoria

The Victoria Police Department is seeking witnesses and information after an early morning stabbing occurred in downtown Victoria on Thursday.

According to VicPD, officers were called to a supportive housing facility in the 800-block of Johnson Street at approximately 2 a.m. on August 5.

When officers arrived at the facility they were able to locate the victim at the front entrance and immediately started providing first aid as the man was suffering from potentially life-threatening injuries.

BC Emergency Health Services arrived on the scene as well and paramedics were able to transport the man to hospital. Police say that after receiving medical treatment, the man’s wounds are considered to be non-life-threatening.

After investigating the stabbing further, officers determined that the incident had taken place in the 900-block of Pandora Avenue prior to police being called.

The victim then walked to the 800-block of Johnson Street before a report to police was made.

This file remains under investigation and Victoria Police is seeking any potential witnesses or information regarding this incident.
