B.C.’s premier says police are investigating after a death threat was made against Selina Robinson.
Robinson recently stepped down as the Minister of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills after she called historic Palestine a “crappy piece of land with nothing on it” in a panel discussion hosted by B’nai Brith.
The panel discussion was held on Jan. 30, then the comments were circulated on Twitter on Feb. 1. On Feb. 2 she made her first apology for the comments on Twitter.
The morning of Feb. 5, Robinson made her second apology, then by the afternoon David Eby, B.C.’s premier announced she was stepping down as minister, but remaining as MLA.
Since her stepping down from cabinet, her office has been vandalized, which Eby criticized as “hateful.”
Now, Eby shared on Twitter that she had received a death threat.
“Selina Robinson recently received a death threat. Hatred and violence are completely unacceptable in BC,” Eby said in a tweet.
“There is no excuse, ever. She is safe and the police are investigating to find the person responsible.”
