1 sent to hospital after stabbing in downtown Victoria

Victoria police are investigating an early morning stabbing that occurred along Pandora Avenue on Wednesday.

Police say they were called to the corner of Cook Street and Pandora Avenue around 5:15 a.m. for a report of a person being stabbed.

When officers arrived, they located an injured man suffering from a stab wound.

The 26-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to VicPD.

Police say the man is believed to have been stabbed in the 900-block of Pandora Avenue.

The McDonalds at 980 Pandora Avenue was taped off early Wednesday morning but reopened around 8 a.m.

The retail complex at the corner of Pandora Avenue and Cook Street remained behind police tape until later in the morning.

Blood could be seen along the sidewalk of the the block in several areas early Wednesday.

VicPD is asking for any witnesses to come forward, as well as anyone who may have security footage or dashcam videos of the area.
