Oak Bay Police say a man was taken into custody on Tuesday afternoon after reports he’d been seen yelling and carrying a pickaxe on Oak Bay Avenue.
Police say when they arrived, the man fled into a coffee shop where he was tackled by officers and arrested.
There were no injuries, but police say the man was taken to hospital for a mental health assessment.
