Motorists won’t have to worry about delays along the Trans-Canada Highway through the Malahat this weekend.

Planned resurfacing of the northbound lane of the Malahat section of Trans-Canada Highway 1 between Finlayson Arm Road and Tunnel Hill has been rescheduled for the week of March 14, the B.C government announced Friday.

The rescheduling is due to expected wet weather conditions throughout the weekend.

Resurfacing work was slated to start overnight on Friday, March 11, from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, resulting in single-lane alternating traffic.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure says it will issue a traffic advisory before work is expected to begin.
