A white pickup truck smoulders in a Saanich neighbourhood after the local fire department put out the flames on Saturday.
Fire crews were seen dousing the fully-engulfed vehicle on a usually quiet Saanich street.
Neighbour Rodney Mack posted a video of the flames on YouTube, hinting that he thinks this no accident, but a targetted act of arson.
The YouTube video’s caption reads, “Next door truck got vandalized this morning. I’m so sad for our good neighbours. Heart goes out to you Mario and family.”
Firemen spewed water into the driver side of the truck first, extinguishing the flames on the left side, before aiming the hose into the back passenger side door’s window to put out the rest.
Saanich Fire Department told CHEK News they do not know the cause of the blaze and are investigating.
