Victoria Police Department says a person on a mobility scooter was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle at the Hillside and Blanshard intersection on Saturday afternoon. 

An investigation is underway after a person on a mobility scooter was struck by a vehicle in Victoria on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Victoria Police Department, the incident happened at the Blanshard Street and Hillside Avenue intersection just after 3 p.m. on April 17, resulting in the intersection being closed briefly.

The person on the mobility scooter was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision while the motorist remained on scene, police say.

The department says the incident is still under investigation.
