Person of interest sought in View Royal sexual assault of teen girl

West Shore RCMP are hoping to find this person of interest in a sexual assault investigation.

West Shore RCMP are hoping to find a person of interest as they investigate the sexual assault of a teenage girl in View Royal.

The sexual assault took place in View Royal Park at 60 Pheasant Lane on Sept. 6.

The person of interest is described as a man between the ages of 30-40 with brown hair, wearing a dark-coloured hoodie and light-coloured jogging pants and black shoes.

RCMP say it is believed the man has information that will advance the investigation and are hoping to speak with him.

Anyone with information about this person is asked to call the West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264.

On Sept. 7, RCMP said the victim of the sexual assault was a girl between the ages of 14 and 16.

She was alone in the View Royal Park when she was approached by a man who sexually assaulted her.

She suffered minor physical injuries.

At the time, West Shore RCMP said this is believed to be an isolated crime and had not received similar reports.
