Victoria police say one woman is in hospital for an assessment after a barricade incident on Gladstone Avenue Thursday afternoon.
Police say they were called to the 1600-block of Gladstone Avenue just after 12 p.m. Thursday for a report that a woman was armed with a knife and in crisis.
When they arrived, officers began to speak with the woman. Officers with the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team, including crisis negotiators, also responded.
Police said were able to convince the woman to put down the knife.
She surrendered herself and was taken into custody. Police said she was not physically injured, but was transported to hospital for assessment.

By 1:50 p.m., police tweeted that the incident had been resolved with help from crisis negotiators and the person was taken into custody.
