One person is dead after drowning near Tofino over the weekend.
The incident happened at Long Beach sometime before 6 p.m. on Saturday (Aug. 7), according to Cpl. Chris Manseau, media spokesperson with the BC RCMP.
Manseau said although paramedics were at the beach fairly quickly, the person died.
He said the death is not considered suspicious.
The BC Coroners Service is now conducting its own investigation into the death.
