A 25-year-old man was airlifted to hospital on Wednesday night after being hit by a car on Highway 19.
Police say the crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Highway 19, approximately one kilometre south of Buckley Bay Road.
Witnesses told police that they saw the man “jumping out in front of passing vehicles while waving their arms” before he was struck.
RCMP say the man suffered potentially life-threatening injuries.
The highway was briefly closed overnight to allow the air ambulance to land, and to let police probe the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
