Part of Nanaimo Lakes Road closed after water main break

A portion of a street in Nanaimo is expected to be closed until July 4 following a water main break on Friday.

The City of Nanaimo said crews are repairing on the break, which is near Nanaimo Lakes Road near Lincoln Road. Nanaimo Lakes Road is currently closed between Mt. Benson Road and Lincoln Road until further notice. Repairs are expected to be completed by Thursday next week.

Local traffic is allowed through the area, but only until Mt. Benson Road. All through traffic is being detoured. Flaggers are at the site and signage has been put up to direct drivers.
