Anyone in the area of Victoria harbour should not be alarmed when Coast Guard boats and first responders converge in the area Thursday.
Officials say search and rescue exercises will be taking place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the outer harbour.
There is a planned Search & Rescue exercise on March 21 from 1-4pm in @CityOfVictoria’s outer harbour. The Coast Guard & first responders will be conducting an on-water exercise that may include smoke/overturned vessels. Do NOT call 9-1-1, unless it’s a life-threatening emergency

Part of the on-water exercise will include overturned vessels and simulated smoke.
You are asked to avoid calling 911 unless there is a life-threatening emergency.
