Power restored to over 2,000 on Pender Island

B.C. Hydro has restored power to 2,271 customers on Pender Island after they were impacted by a wind storm Sunday afternoon.

Residents on North and South Pender Island lost electricity around 3:35 p.m.

It came as B.C. Hydro had less than 100 customers earlier today without power on the Southern Gulf Islands.

The company is hoping to have all customers on the Southern Gulf Islands back on the grid by New Years.
