Man with serious injuries following Colwood stabbing: RCMP

Nicholas Pescod

One 27-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a stabbing in Colwood over the weekend, according to West Shore RCMP.

In a release, police say officers were called to 1880 Island Highway in Colwood for a report of a stabbing.

When officers arrived, they found a man who was suffering from a stab wound, and BC Emergency Health Services attended to the victim.

One witness, who spoke with officers, said they saw four people running away from the parking lot and crossing the Island Highway, before they lost sight of them.

A police dog was deployed, however no suspects were found. Police do not believe there to be a risk to the public and say this appears to be an isolated crime.

Anyone with dash cam footage of the area between 1 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 29 is asked to contact police if you think you captured suspicious activity.

Two bystanders helped the victim, however, one left when officers arrived. Police are hoping to speak with the second bystander.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264.
