One person killed by falling tree in Duncan as windstorm lashes Vancouver Island

A person has died in an incident involving a fallen tree in Duncan, the BC Coroners Service has confirmed.

Few details were released but the BC Coroners Service said it is investigating the death and it involved a tree that fell down during the windstorm on Thursday.

The coroner’s service said it would provide more details on Friday.

Duncan and other areas of Vancouver Island are currently dealing with widespread power outages caused by the storm.
